I will say one thing about Steed. I generally think he is even. Like, he's completely out-classed by the level and speed of the game, but his terribleness is generally a byproduct of how terrible he is and applies equally.

There are some others that are better D1 officials about whom you cannot say that.

Oddly enough nothing ISUr did last night impressed me either. They play hard on the defensive end, but they aren't far and away the best. I would expect they lose at least 3 MVC games. Still very good, but this ain't no 18-0 team that is for sure.

Also let's give it up for how horrendous Hal Lusk, and Zelton Steed truly are. They were really really bad for both teams.

You take away Jeremy Morgan for 3 weeks and see how you perform on offense! Our defense still brings it every night.

Refs were very poor...the SportsCenter 3 stars video (MVC Facebook page has it up) shows the TERRIBLE charge call at the very end of the video. Worst charge call I have ever seen....ever.

I don't know if that was the worst charge call I've ever seen, but it was up there.

That probably was the worst flagrant foul call I've ever seen.

On Jake's postgame show, he said that Lusk couldn't even really tell him why they called it flagrant, just 'something that we felt we should call because the offensive player fell down'.

Foul? Absolutely. Flagrant? No way in hell.

Maybe they were just making up for uncalled flopping technicals.

The only flagrant I saw the entire night last night came from the Drake bench.

You can tell it wasn't a flagrant by how Muller reacted. When the refs came over to explain he had the look of "are you kidding me?" and "ok we'll take it" at the same time.

Very dumb call.

Hyde: On January 13:
- UNI was 0-5 (including losses to L, E, M, and B)
- per Hacksaw, our probability of PIG was 75% and our probability of #3-MVC was 1%.

Jekyll: Now, February 14:
- UNI was 8-6 (including loss at ISUr by 6)
- per Hacksaw, our probability of PIG is 0% and our probability of #3-MVC is 91%.

During that time, our offensive production has gone down. Over the last 3 games (wins) our Offensive Efficiency was 329th. We've been clanking 3-pointers and making terrible passes into the arms of opponents.

Clearly, our defense is improving. A lot. We have two big games coming up: @WSU and ISUr@home. both gonna be tough. WSU has so many quick 3-point shooters. This will be the toughest test for our defense for the rest of the year. ISUr will be tough, also. But not like @WSU. Playing them is gonna be like trying to keep a lid on a big bucket of angry badgers. Keeping the lid on will take a lot of work. And once the lid gets loose, and one escapes, well... things could get bad.
