So just asking, on the state register Jake isn't listed as an employee and has no salary listed there or on the UNI overall budget ? So then basically he's not employed by the University ? I get that a majority of his salary might be private funded, that's not unusual, but often there is a modest base salary attributed to the University along with certain perks and incentives, and then a substantial amount of the actual $$$ amount is privately funded. Again just asking, that just seems odd. It would seem that the private donations to fund his salary would be given to the University ,which then would distribute the money as salary, thereby constituting an expense . Wouldn't really matter what the source of the revenue was, or where it is reported in the University budget, but it would have to be a reported expense somewhere, right ??

The university is basically a pass through for tax purposes. The donor can deduct and the university can take payroll taxes and what not. Jake is technically a state employee even though the state isn't paying him anything.

Here's a link that shows what the state is tehnically passing through to Jake. $778,000 comes through the state and then he makes up the rest through appearance fees, BenJacobsonBasketballCamps, Inc, and his media contract through Learfield.

The fact that Lisa Bluder is making about the same money is offensive to the senses....
