He was like the 4th but what does that matter?

I will be honest, I didn't really think that Alize was going to be drafted... I thought that it almost might be better for him to be able to choose as a free agent, but the fact that he was drafted and got to hear his name called was definitely worth it for that young man. Hopefully Missouri State sees a little spike in recruiting because of that. It just goes to show people that if you are good enough, scouts will find you no matter where you play.

True but it's not like the MVC is some backwater also-ran conference. There is a long tradition of highly successful NBA players coming from current member institutions as well as the recently departed Creighton and Wichita State. This conference deserves much more respect than it receives.

No Bird isn't making any major decisions now. He resigned as president of operations in 2017. He stayed on in an advisory capacity.

I was pretty confident Alize would be drafted. His status with the NBA has been pretty high for quite a while. I think he's got a decent chance to stick in the league for more than his guaranteed year. He's a stud.

That could help Lusk land as job as an assistant (if he hasn't already - I haven't heard). It shows he can recruit. The results he got with an NBA guy on the roster shows that he should stick to recruiting.

Argh Lusk already landed an assistant coaching position. At Creighton. Your assessment of his coaching is spot on.

Looking back I'm still amazed that we were as bad as we were last year with an NBA caliber player and pretty decent talent around him.

I really think Alize would have gone in the First round this year if he had been utilized correctly.
