I would have never guessed we were 3rd in the MVC in attendance. Last year was our lowest attendance numbers in many years.

It will be interesting to see how far Loyola moves up on this list next year.

Over/Under 3500 average next year.

I'll take the under.

Bradley's attendance is also historically low, but Carver crowds were pushing 8K the in February after beating Loyola. The BU fan base has had to deal with some pretty bad basketball much of the last decade which significantly eroded our season ticket base. I dunno if we'll ever get back to the regular 10K crowds 10-20 years ago but if Wardle continues to improve the average should climb over 8K.

I believe ISU was second on that list. I look for an increase this year.

Even on a good year ISUr only draws about 6,000. I expect about 6,100 per game is my guess.

Loyolo holds 4,950. About 5,200 with standing room. I'll take over 3,500 all day, everyday. I bet they average at least 4,250 since they have a lot of a Final 4 team coming back.. Probably more.

Actually last year for MSU was a slight uptick from 2016-17 , and 2015-16 was our low point when we actually dipped below 4,000. However, these figures do point towards the importance of Bradley and MSU needing to be strong MVC programs as they are the only two who in the past decade showed any ability to have attendance figures above 7,000. Bradley traditionally was above 8,000 , the last time being in 2010-11 at about 8400, and MSU in Martin's last year was at 7500 that year. The next year Bradley dipped to about 7,500 and MSU to 7,000 and neither has been above that since. SIU used to average similar, but the last time they were above 7,000 was 2006-2007. Despite great teams UNI has not had great attendance in the past decade, and ISUr has been in the 5-6,000 range even in solid seasons in that time.

I don't know what is still possible for MSU or how long even with success it would take to get attendance back up, but again, in the last decade, those two, Bradley and MSU are the two who have been able to push the envelope, but it's been 6 years for both.

From being at most MSU home games i never would have guessed we had even a slight increase in attendance last year. We probably benefited early on from the preseason prediction favoring us to win the valley.
