Clayton Custer Makes CP3 Elite Camp

The accolades keep rolling in for Loyola's Clayton Custer thanks to his spectacular performance over the 17-18 season which keyed a Final 4 run for the Ramblers. According to this article by Father Harry, he has been named to the Chris Paul Elite camp in Winston-Salem this August. Congratulations Clayton! Well deserved!

Our Murray State friends will be interested to know that Ja Morant made it as well on the strength of his remarkable freshman season. Congratulations Ja! I have posted this article in the expansion thread as well to mark yet another reason whythe Racers belong in the MVC.

This article lists Clayton Custer as the #5 mid-major PG in the nation. Murray State's Ja Morant checks in right above that at #4. (not bad for an incoming Sophomore). Jordan Barnes and Keyshawn Evans receive honorable mention.

This list really put into perspective how efficient Custer was last year. He's got the highest field goal and three point percentages out of anyone on that list by a fair margin.

If he can do that again Loyola will be in good shape. He'll definitely get NBA interest--maybe even first round interest if Loyola has another good year and does well in the tournament.

Really though the list speaks to the quality of the athletes and the competition of the MVC. To have three guys either make the list or gain honorable mention as the best at their position in the midmajor ranks is pretty special
