I assume it is to discourage recruiting other teams players. I don't understand why nobody seems to think it is good to require a player to sit out if he wants to transfer. It probably gives him a way better chance of graduating if he is not playing the year he switched schools. I am particularly puzzled as to why anybody who supports a Valley team would be against the rule. Elimination of the sitting out rule will truly make the Valley a farm system league.
