DeVries should be unanimous COY, not just for sharing the best conference record, but for assembling the players from almost nothing, getting returnees like McGlynn and Noah Thomas to buy in totally, and overcoming the injury to Norton. That's damn anazing.
But Marques Townes is the MVC POY. When Lucas Williamson went down and Clayton Custer had rough games, Townes kept Loyola from dropping ing out of the race. In Loyola's two wins over Drake, Townes had 28 in the first game (a career high) and 32 in the second game (a new career high).
Yes. Townes averages 30 points against Drake.

So, the *passionate* Townes for MVC player of the year arguments from Rambler fans are weird to me since Krutwig was the best player on the Ramblers for the first two-thirds of the season, including the first half of the conference season...

I guess that's what set me off.
Let's start to recognize some of the slights as what they are.

Its not quotes, its asterisks. I'm not doubting the passion. I just see so many Loyola fans dead set on Townes being POY where, if you asked Valley fanbases outside Loyola, I bet a lot of them would go Krutwig over Townes (myself included).
I'm just confused why the Loyola fanbase seems to favor Townes as much. Seems like he was a bellwether - played great in wins, poorly in losses. Krutwig seemed a more even consistent player. Just my perspective. I didn't watch every Loyola game of course
