Drake fans on here have a looooooooong way to go to even approach the level of some of the WSU fans that used to prowl this board. Some of the WSU fans were great. Most of them actually. But a number of them were just the worst. The type of people contemptuous of any point of view other than their own and whose lives probably revolve around trolling message boards.

I think you would have to look pretty hard to find an obnoxious Drake fan. I did my part for the Championship by giving two UNI fans some great seats ...free.

I thought the crowds at St. Louis were pretty good. The night we played Illinois State I thought the arena was as full as I had seen it in several years.

Pretty large vocal Drake section. A lot of good old fashioned basketball fun.....no matter what age you are.

My only gripe...can the food/drink get any higher priced?

To be honest, I feel bad for D+ fans after the great season and still so so well despite the injuries and then to lose like that. I’d be full of piss and vinegar today if I were them.

Everything is high priced today but, I bought 3 tickets ($227 after all the fees) 3 hotdogs and a water ($30) and parking ($20). $277 for one session and i'd do it again but how do "regular" fans afford this? Even scalpers know you can't get a seat for less than $50.

You are not going to see any long time Drake fans blowing about greatness. i'm assuming the obnoxious posts are from students or bandwagoners. I certainly understand the frustration when you lose on a last second shot with 40 point per game in street clothes. Logic would dictate that the Bulldogs likely would have won the conference if three starters had not been lost to injury. When you wait for years to get a good coach who can recruit players and coach them, it is particularly frustrating.

Until the last few days, I would have said there would definitely be a step-back for Drake next season without McGlynn. But, seeing how Drake demolished Illinois State and played to the wire against UNI without him, it gives me much more confidence in Drake next season.

The McGlynn-less team that Drake had in the MVC tournament will be the core of next season's team. Other than Ellingson (who was a complete non-factor in both games), all the other will be back. Add in DJ Wilkins, the two redshirts from this season and the 5-6 new recruits and the Bulldogs should be fine.

Not predicting a championship or anything like that, but they proved they could compete without McGlynn (and two other starters). Other guys stepped up and that should be a huge boost to those guys' confidence for next season.

Bulldogs might not win as many games next season, but they should be deeper and more athletic next season.
