BU was always my second favorite MVC team, after WSU, of course.

I will never forget watching Hersey Hawkins scorching us for 28 points in the first half during a game at-then Henry Levitt Arena during my senior year, when BU was ranked in the top 20. Somehow we won that game.

I will always cheer hard for the MVC.

Good post.

It is now time for every MVC coach and program to step up.

Get better players. Schedule better. Yeah, Bradley played valiantly but an MVC team should NEVER be a 15 seed. And the MVC should be getting two teams in the tournament routinely. Don't let this become the new normal for the league.

I want every MVC team to have a great recruiting class. Every team to schedule hard. Raise expectations.

Since '02, these are the years the MVC has had any team seeded higher than an 11 seed:
2002 - 12 Creighton
2004 - 14 UNI
2006 - 13 BU
2009 - 12 UNI
2011 - 14 INST
2019 - 15 BU
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

I had a good time in Des Moines yesterday. Thanks for the bbq suggestions earlier in the thread. Bradley needed one more player to step up to make the game very interesting.

It's tough to get too excited about the Valley as a whole next year. It looks like 4 teams are going to take a step back and I'm sure there will be a few more player defections before summer.

I feel exactly the opposite. Missouri State, Bradley, and UNI are all going to take a step forward next season I think, and Krutwig is going to keep Loyola good. I think the Valley is going to be a lot better next season.

Bradley looked like a team much better than a 15 seed. They gave Michigan State a real test. The game was WAY closer than the final score indicated.

The Braves sure got Tom Izzo's attention. Dude went ballistic on one of his players.

Do you see any of these 4 teams being NCAA or NIT worthy? Obviously, there were none this year, so the bar is pretty low to step over.

Loyola was 128 Net and lose the 2018 & 2019 MVC POY and are going to get better next year? I think the Loyola basketball program looks good, but next year's team looks average.

What do you mean by "NCAA or NIT" worthy? Do you mean good enough to get an at-large bid? Good enough to get a decent seed in the NCAA Tournament? Good enough to make a run in either tournament?

I don't think any of those teams will be good enough to get to the NCAA tournament if they lose the conference tournament. I could see all four of those teams being good enough to get a decent seed in the tournament if they can win the regular season title and the conference tournament. Good enough to make a run in the postseason? Sure, but that's hard to predict.
