UNI/SIU
Loyola/Bradley

That sounds like more fun to me.

Also, Valpo isn’t make the semis, I’d bet a lot on that.

8/9 ILL ST over Valpo

7/10 Drake over Evansville

8/1 UNI over ILL ST

4/5 SIU over IN ST

2/7 Loyola over Drake

3/6 Bradley over Missouri State

No offense but UNI needs Indiana State's NET number.

Has Missouri State "found" themselves? Over the last few games, they are looking like the team most people thought they'd be. Handle the Sycs with ease in Terre Haute handing them their first home loss. Big test coming up this week @ Bradley.

Evansville plays well and comes close, again, this time @Drake. First win remains elusive. Home game vs Illinois State still on the docket.

Loyola won that thing in the first 10 minutes by playing really, really well.

How about a rubber matchup on Sunday in StL on CBS?

Deal.

Although Bradley may have something to say about that. May get a Bradley/Loyola semi Saturday in the 2/3 game. Arch Madness will be a lot of fun this year. Can't wait.

Semifinal Saturday has a shot to feel like mid-00s vintage Semifinal Saturday. If we get like UNI-Indiana State and Loyola-Bradley. Hoo boy, that's a great afternoon of basketball

The Sycamores will NOT be playing on Saturday in St Louis, we're making a bee-line for Thursday and will be one and done once again, then it will be a wait and see period to see if we're gonna get stuck one more year with Lansing or have a new coach heading into 20-21?

It's sad to see what's happening to Indiana State. They were doing so well an seemed to have so many reasons for hope and optimism. A rough stretch of play has come at a bad time for them. Missouri State looks really good. They look like the team we thought they were going to be all year. They have a tough remaining schedule but they'll be a tough game for anyone they play going forward.

Indiana State will play on Thursday. You can 5 star lock it. We will lose to UNI and SIU for sure. I will also be surprised if we actually win at Evansville. We might beat Valpo maybe.

As strange as this sounds, and UNI fans, chime in, of the Thursday teams, is Illinois State the one you don't want to see? The Birds won the conference opener and then played UNI really tough in Cedar Falls. Seems like it is just a tough match up for UNI.

I equate it to the rec sand volleyball league I play in. There are some really good teams in the league that call plays, bump, set, spike and know the intricacies of volleyball. Then you have my team, put together with a group of athletes from other sports never really played VB outside of high school PE, whose goal is to just get the damn ball over the net. Other teams have told us that "style" of play we use is tough to defend because they are used to other teams doing the passing and setting each other up. We've made the final 4 of 16 teams the last 4 seasons.

In this scenario, UNI is the "really good team" and the Redbirds are my team of misfits whose play will just make you scratch your head then you look at the score board and the game is waaaaay closer than it should be.

Don't get me wrong, I would still 100% expect UNI to win that game on Friday at noon, but as a Redbird fan looking for a glimmer of hope to latch on to, this is all I have right now.

Strangely enough, we didn't play great against Illinois State or Valpo. In that scenario, with the 16 hour turnaround, I don't think it really matters but for some reason Illinois State really shoots the ball well against us.

Drake is the one of the five that could be in that position that really scares me the most after the way they played in Cedar Falls. But they all have reasons to worry you. MSU we blew out twice but are a different team since lineup revisions. Indy State is struggling now but has some good wins and has the talent to compete with anyone (and played us tough in CF). We struggled in both games vs. ISU Red and Valpo.

To add,we have been playing these games close without DEAndre Williams. He was shooting 78%from the field.DeAndre was cleared to practice with contact last week.He can be a game changer,so we'll wait and see.
