1. Playing time - people are not going to want to be on a extended roster where playing time will be even bigger struggle.

2. Scholarship $ - schools are all ready struggling with finances, they are not going to want to be giving extra scholarships.

3. Seniors and pro-ball - I expect you will see the ones who have an opportunity to make $$$ in playing some level of pro-ball will move on and get their next phase of life going.

Yeah. This will work itself out. Most good players aren't sticking around for an extra year. The ones who want to stay may not be asked back. If you take a guy using the extra year from another program it counts against your 13.

"Most good players aren't sticking around for an extra year"? I think a number of them are. Haven't several of Drake's seniors said they are coming back? And I know for a fact Gaige Prim is coming back. Lots of good players from just that small group.

I will bet you a beverage that when the 2021-22 season tips off Gaige Prim won't be on the MSU roster.

I'm not the betting type but Gaige seems like a man of his word. Why make the announcement of he doesn't intend to return?

guarentee from Williams he was coming back until his AAU coach got in his ear and he left for Memphis about 1or 2 months before school was to start.

Lots of things can happen between now and then but Gaige didn't participate in Senior day yesterday.

I think right now returning sounds like a good idea. The season is going. Things are going well, etc.

But after the season when things settle and he explores his options he might change his mind. It doesn’t make him a liar now. Things change. Circumstances change. Every year he spends in college is one less year he gets to make money playing basketball.

As good As Gaige is he's not an NBA prospect. As a true post player he's just not got enough size to play there in the NBA. Europe will always be there. I think he'll be back. We'll see.
