Belmont is the 11th. Who should be the 12th?

With all due respect, Belmont and Murray would be competitive this year in the MVC. That isn't a slight to any team on here, nor am I saying that both would be head and shoulders ahead of the top teams. But, if Murray and Belmont were at Arch Madness this year, I wouldnt bet against either team.


I am hopeful that the mindset in St Louis has changed somewhat. i am afraid that it hasn't among the presidents.



PS- Murray State vs SIU and Murray State vs Evansville (especially with Balentine and Mockevičius) have been some of the best games to watch, home and away.

Murray State is supposedly making some sort of athletics announcement during (this) homecoming week. Honestly, I'm hoping for some news out if this that we're either going or staying but let's get it over with. I'm getting tired of getting my hopes up and then ... silence. Let's get on with it or make other plans.

Thats been the rumor around here but I have no way of putting a confidence number on that. Honestly, at this point, who the hell knows?

Is there any REAL talk about Missouri St. going FBS and leaving the Valley? Maybe MVC leaders want to be sure about the situation with all the conference shifting. Are they waiting to add till they see how things shake out?

Sources: The American Athletic Conference is expected examine expansion this week, with six schools expected to send applications. The AAC is expected to receive an application from – FAU, Charlotte, North Texas, UTSA, Rice and UAB this week.

Wichita State cannot be pleased with this development.

The reality is this- universities need to decide what their dominant sport is going to be. Maybe the Dakotas can have both, but that doesn’t seem realistic. If you were good enough for all that it seems that you would have done that by now. That isn’t a dig or swipe at those programs. In fact, they might be the only schools who can.

Teams that chase both often end up burning one program or another. Wichita went looking for greener pastures, I won’t blame them for that. But not every move is a positive one. It’s the risk you take
