Basically if you were in the play-in-game, you had no chance of making it past Friday, so it was not worth attending for those teams.
That will change when the 5 seed has to beat up on the 12 on Thursday and then go play the 4 seed Friday. The 3 and 4 seeds will have advantages not playing on Thursday, but some lower seeds will win more often than they do now with the new expanded bracket.
The 8/9 getting to play 6 hours earlier is a big difference.

I just hope that if we roll with 11 next year, that the 3-game day is treated as one session instead of (and priced) as two.
