Don't think Green was more consistent overall, but Mosley had a 3-4 game lull late in season which stood out. The difference for me is two-fold; Mosley is so much more efficient across the board shooting the ball, and Mosley does more . Neither defends that well, and their passing #'s are similar, but Mosley is the best rebounding guard in the league, leads the league in defensive rebounding. The 0-2 vs UNI by MSU will probably decide it, but actually , if not Mosley, I would have picked Williamson , because he again does more than Green. But usually, to the winner go the spoils.

By consistent i mean it seemed to me Green mostly avoided some of the low production games Mosely had. But I didn't follow UNI every game so I could be wrong.

You are right about efficiency. The difference in overall shooting percentage is striking. Mosely 50% and Green 41%.

It's close, but again favors Mosley; both had 6 games under 10 pts during the season. Green had 14 x 20+ games, while Mosley had 18 x 20+ games. Add in the shooting efficiency numbers and the significant rebounding differential and it's just hard to vote against Mosley as this years best , but ........

Very tough call. I would choose Green for two reasons: 1) UNI won the Conference Title. 2) Green scored 20 or more points in the last six games, Mosley only had three 20 or more points in his last six games. Green finished stronger down the stretch and that won UNI the Title.

That's a valid argument on both points , and probably the only one that could be made that would justify Green , as Mosley had the better statistics and is overall able to do more than Green. But like I said, to the winner go the spoils, most usually, and doubt this will be different.

Larry Bird POY is down to AJ Green and Isiaih Mosley.

It’s very tight between them in conference play, though statistically, Isiaih is a little ahead, IMO.

If you include OOC, Isiaih is further ahead.

If “best player on best team” is the target, AJ will get it, since UNI won the conference season championship race and UNI won the head to head with MSU.

I think that's pretty much it; what do the voters most value. Isiaih has better stats and can do more, but Green's team won the league and the h/h match up. Having watched both for 3 years , I have no doubt Isiaih is the more gifted and can do more, but Green has an uncanny knack for hitting big shots and being big at crunch time on a team that has won 2 titles in his time. Tough call, two of the best in the Valley in years.
