Not anymore. Indiana State selling out 6 8k+ games and the corporate/community support that program is now seeing have completely changed that job, IMO. Gone are the days they have a bottom-2 MBB budget in the league with that money flowing in, and now they’ll have one of the top NIL collectives as well. Also, Hulman Center post-renovation might be the best mid-major arena in the midwest (MoSt/NKU are right there but too big/empty).

All that support still going to be there when they go 15-15 next year? It's easy to get people to show up when you're good. It's easy to get people to contribute to Avila and Larry and Swope. Are the checkbooks going to open for the unknown and a coach that, most likely, won't have the track record of success Schertz had coming in.
They don't have an AD and their president is openly hostile to athletics. I just see this as a flash in the pan that happened because you hit a home run with a hire.
