I love it. Bradley fans finally feeling threatened again by the rivals down 74. Skunberg coming off injury will be our biggest "recruit". He is a legit starter and will fill in Banks role nicely.

Coleman may start by mid season. Dude is that good.

LOL @ "threatened"

As I've said, it's nice to finally see ISU maybe join the party at the top of the league. Some would say let's wait to actually see it first - but go ahead, Crown the Birds Baby!! No pressure. Clearly everyone else is playing for second.

Best recruits. Best coach. Best injured guys coming back. Probably gonna go 20-0 in the league.

Nobody is saying this, except you. You sound like a child over-reacting to the Birds keeping everyone and our fan base being excited about. That reply to my post is exactly why youre "threatened." Don't put words in our mouths. We haven't won s*** in 27 years. Let us be excited about our POTENTIAL without the "crown em" comments.

Congratulations to ISU for keeping their core together. Impressive in today's landscape.

Questions for ISU fans:

1. Was there a specific donor/company/corporation that contributed to key players staying? BloNo has State Farm, Country Companies, FIrestone, Rivian, numerous car dealers and other options. Was it a combination of variables?

2. If Pedon wins the MVC next season, along with the MVCT, does his contract get extended?

3. If the above happens, and he's offered a P5 job, does he leave and take CW, JK, Pence, Daugherty etc. with him? Would you be willing to take an NCAA bid over this possibility?

Been a long, frustrating drought (2007) for my Salukis, but even a longer one for ISU. (1998)
Just curious on your thoughts and information. Thx.

Was it a combination of variables? I'm not sure, but this past season they started pushing for NIL funds for general athletics and one just for basketball.

2. If Pedon wins the MVC next season, along with the MVCT, does his contract get extended? Definitely and he would deserve it.

3. If the above happens, and he's offered a P5 job, does he leave and take CW, JK, Pence, Daugherty etc. with him? Would you be willing to take an NCAA bid over this possibility? He probably would take the job and he probably would take some players. Yes, I would 100% take that.

1. No specific company or donor. We know that the CBI Championship is never the goal but it seriously got casual fans interested. There was a massive NIL push after, asking for as little as a one time $20 donation or $19.98/mo to join the NIL Collective, the 1998 Clubs.

2. Yes. Next year will be year 4 of a 5 year deal. He needs to show a serious jump to earn an extension. Though, with our new AD Jeri Beggs at the helm, I could see him getting one after next season regardless of outcome to avoid the "lame duck" year of a HC. She just did it for the football coach.

3. I don't think he'd be a one and done. He just convinced his entire team to come back...I'm not sure he'd jump at the first opportunity. He's very much preached an old school mindset, building a program through freshmen and not "microwaving" a team every year. I think at the very least, he would see his first recruiting class (Johnny, Chase, and Ty) through here. Watching the portal, Johnny has a brother that is going to be a freshman at Wisconsin next year. They continue to add veteran guards in the portal, so I could see a world where his brother is discouraged from being buried on the bench and come to Normal to play with his brother for his senior year.

Would I trade an NCAA Tournament bid for him to take a P5 job....yeah, I guess so. It's four year shy of being my entire life without a bid. Though, it'd be very disappointing. I'd be more acceptable to the idea if he got us there back to back years.

Wouldn't all fans trade a championship-type season and an NCAA bid in exchange for potentially losing a coach and any potential returning players? It's kind of the goal isn't it?

I guess Drake fans are uniquely qualified to answer this one.

I think this is probably easier to answer when you’re at the bottom. That answer is, hell yes I’d trade losing a coach for a championship
