Could we play the 2015 MVC tournament in Evansville at the arena which I will refer to as "Old National Bank Centre"?

We could call it "MVC: Going Postal: for the arena's closeness to the post office.

:duel: :offtopic:

Just trying to come up with ways to get ISU and UE fans to show up.

After being in the Sprint and even Intrust Bank, which should be out of the question, the Scottrade Center is a dump; you cant argue otherwise. Has it been a good place for the Valley recently, yes, but at the very least they should alternate sites. Anyone who has been to KC and the Sprint Center couldn't agree otherwise.

Not only from the aspect of the arena itself. The fact that more tickets will be sold alone should be a strong consideration in moving it, even if it is mainly WSU and CU fans. Simple fact is StL is farther away from Omaha and Wichita then anywhere else in the league and we still consistently have more fans. I wasn't in StL today, but how well did ISU fans travel out for the game today? If WSU or CU were in the championship there would be a mass exodus from Omaha or Wichita to watch them play. If it were in Sprint, the place would be sold out.

As for the area around the arena, I find it to be much more appealing. There are far more eating options and entertainment is easily as good.

Much like Doug Elgin, most of you have become satisfied with the status quo and are unwilling to make changes. Even though a move would be better for the league and would likely make for a better Valley tourney experience for all fans expect perhaps SIU.

I am going to go ahead and say this.

1: Don't mock our fanbase for attendance. If I remember right, you lost and we won. Right?

2: It seems like only WSU and CU fans want it moved. GET OVER IT. St. Louis is more accomidating to all fans.

3: I have been to The Sprint Center and it is nice, but not worth moving an entire tourney to.

4: Aren't you happy enough? Omaha already has one Valley tourney there with Baseball.

Scottrade Center isn't a bad place at all. If it was, why would a professional sports team call it home? I go there a lot and have never once had a problem with it. I even recommend going there to other people.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about with this statement.

I have no doubt that Creighton and WSU fans would show up in K.C. ... for a year or two.

But what happens when they run into the same phenomenon as the eastern MVC schools? The idea that, "I'm not going to blow X-amount of dollars on an all-session ticket, when I can just hop in my car and come down Saturday or Sunday?"

It'll happen. And it'll happen without the numbers from the other fanbases -- notably SIU, Bradley, Illinois State -- to bolster attendance.

Or, what happens when CU and WSU have a down year? Those fans don't show up, plus, the fans from the other schools don't show in as great a number?

The tournament is fine where it is.

All the more reason to move it to Chicago. ;)

WSU fans DO show up during a down year. I haven't witnessed a Creighton down year, so I wouldn't know. I'd imagine they aren't going to reach Evansville or ISU Blue attendance levels either. Also, considering Bradley and ISU Red have had decent attendance in the all-session sections in St. Louis, even with the close proximity, I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about.

KC is more of a basketball town so it would make a lot of sense. Less snobbery there and you don't have to play it in SLUH's backyard. Sprint Center is a much nicer venue too. I saw some CU fans at Arch Madness that evidently went to HS in St. Louis meeting with some MSU fans and they were all like: "Where did you go to high school...?" Puhleeze! Only in Suck Louis. Take this thing to a real city that would appreciate it.

This year and last were "down" years for CU and CU had the second most fans at Arch Madness behind WSU.

A four or five seed is a down year for Creighton.
