This is something you rarely hear of:
Gregg Marshall just reported on the radio that he received an apology from one of the officials who worked the WSU vs. UCONN game in Maui early this season. Though it was through a third party, the official wanted to let Gregg know that the crew bungled two calls in the final minutes of the game. I believe the Shockers were up by 9 with around 2 minutes left and ended up losing by 4.
The second situation was in relation to the VCU Bracket Buster game. The Valley head of officials sided with Marshall and told him that the foul on the last play shouldn't have been called by the CAA crew. Certainly, that's not as valuable as an apology from the official who actually called your game, but it's worth something, considering refs like to cover for each other till death do them part.
