Wow no one has posted. I guess not that much of a surprise since most people don't care about these games. I think this will be a really tough game for the Panthers even though we are at home. Rider is coming in after winning 6 in a row before losing in the semifinals of their conference tournament. They appear to have some pretty good height, but not sure it is girth so I think we can match up.

I predict we will come out of a little funk and win this game to get ourselves the bye for the next round.

UNI has doubled up Rider - 54-27 so far.

UNI beats Rider 84-50. UNI jumped out to a 14-0 lead so it was never competitive.

UNI gets a bye next round and hosts on Monday night.

I don't remember there being byes in the CIT last year. Is this something new?

Yeah, they went to a field of 24 so there are byes now.

4 teams get byes after the first round based on RPI, SOS, Conference rank, or whatever else they want I guess.
didn't even have to wait until the game was over, they announced UNI would get a bye half way through the second half. :huh:

I think we knew if we won we would get the bye. I think us and Valpo are the two "top" teams in the tournament. And in fairness they announced the bye at the McLeod with only 3 minutes left and we were up 35. I remember because I was sitting next to someone who commented the game was not even over and they are announcing like we won. Well a 35 point lead with 3 minutes is more than likely safe unless rider had Reggie Miller coming in off the bench.
