I understand that MSU finished first in the Valley, but the Bears did throttle Oral Roberts in Springfield in the first regular season game this year, and as everyone on here is well aware, the Bears are not a team designed to blow anyone out.

Just my opinion Shox fan dude. Oral Roberts is fully committed to basketball success and will give their coaches the opportunity to succeed at the highest level of the Summit. They have been very successful for a lengthy period. If you are an aspiring up and comer, you go there and you can parlay that into an BCS job if you are successful enough. Scott Sutton is kind of a weird situation because he loves it there and won't leave.

Bradley has tremendous history, but I don't think they have the same commitment that say ORU does. They have an okay location but Chicago and Northern Illinois is overrecruited and there are tons of other viable options such as ISURed, SIU or NIU. Now all kidding aside about Jim Les, he didn't do a very good job and they let him hang on about half a decade too long. That doesn't look like commitment to excellence to me. They seem plenty content to finish middle of the pack as long as their kids stay out of trouble (contrast to SIUC). If you are an aspiring up and comer, Bradley isn't a bad job but you have to compete with schools that appear more committed to basketball success, some at almost any cost. Can you succeed there? Sure if things break the right way, but ORU would seem more built for success.

That's just my take, I don't know a ton about the Bradley men's program. I could be completely off base but if I had a choice between Bradley and ORU, I'd take my time thinking about it . Wouldn't be a slam dunk for BU.

Bradley is more committed to men's basketball than most teams in the MVC, with regard to resources dedicated to the program.

They've had some bad luck with injuries and, while not an excuse, they did affect Les' results significantly. There were only three seasons during his tenure that were not hit with an injury to one of his top 2-3 guys -- which is why he got as long as he did. When his guys were healthy, BU had pretty good teams (05-06; 06-07).

I'm not as familiar with what ORU does, but I can't imagine they're any more invested in the success of their basketball program than Bradley is.

With the new administration, that may change...many BU fans are a bit anxious of those prospects.
