Bears:
Aaron Cooper-So or Dorrian Williams-Fr or JuCo PG
Keith Pickens-So
Nathan Scheer-So
Kyle Weems-Sr
Christian Kirk-Fr

Key Bench:
Drew Wilson-Fr
Cory Copeland-So
Isiah Rhine-Sr

As you can see PG will be the biggest question mark right now. Think Kirk has to be in the talk for FOY, best recruit we've had in the last 2 years and is going to make a larger impact than Scheer. Can't imagine anyone having as large an impact as McDermott but Kirk will have a regular MVC FOY type of season.

As far as a different team, this team will be much more athletic than our past team with upgrades at every position aside from Scheer at SF replacing Mallet. Pickens, Williams, Cooper, and Wilson are all more athletic than the player they will be replacing. Athletic doesn't necessarily = great basketball, but we're excited about the potential because of our coach + the athleticism.

I can't buy your story MSU fans. Losing Mallett, Leonard, Ricks and possibly Creekmore is going to be too tough. Of course I am not as familiar with your recruits a you are but being "more athletic" does not always translate to being an upgrade from previous years so just try and temper your expectations.

Just ask Jays fans. We lose guys like Watts, Porter, and Dotzler, and replace them with Walker, Stinnett and Witter (all more athletic and highly touted players) and we struggled to find what made us successful. SIU did the same thing, the went more athletic at every position and now there coach is going to get fired. Its all about the right chemistry and there was not a better team, chemistry wise, in the MVC than MSU this last year.

On a side note, I do share your thoughts on Kirk. I think he probably starts for you guys, and will likely compete with Nic Moore from ISU(r) for FOY rights.

The biggest thing is we still have 3 ships left and my starter projections will depend on what we do with those. I imagine we will add a juco or two and if they are anything like Ricks/Mallett we probably won't drop as much as some think...but I understand losing what we do it will be tough. Weems, Scheer and Pickens are a good start plus Kirk and Wilson bring something we haven't had in a while. Both are long and athletic mutli-skill guys with great motors. I like the make up of our team next year and we will be inexperienced but pretty talented.
