There was a very loud ovation at Qwest last night when they announced the Wichita State final.

That was just weird, but it definitely happened.

Some WSU fans are torn between cheering for CU or Oregon, but not me. I dislike Altman much more than I dislike CU. Go JAYS!

Maybe this is evidence that there aren't as many Jayskers as once thought?

Thanks CU fans. And while I actually like(d) Altman, I hope CU swooshbuckles them back to Nikeland!

There are plenty of people who grew up around here and cheered for Nebraska football as a kid - I get that. I'd guess there are Shocker basketball fans who cheer for KU or KSU football as well. The fact is that real Creighton fans detest Nebraska basketball and baseball and I think that is what you saw when the Shox thumped NU. Creighton fans took great delight in seeing Nebraska lose and the fact that it was to an MVC school was icing on the cake. Maybe that will put to bed the Shockers fans wanting a CU rivalry. A true rival won't cheer for you under any circumstances.

Nah. Won't happen -- at least not in conference play. That being said, go beat the crap out of the ducks, but watch out for which way the poop flies.

I cheered loudly when I heard WSU beat C of C. Probably the only ones that might not have were the ones that were aware that there is a supposed rivalry. I think they even cheered too. I say silly or not, let the rivalry grow, rivalries are good for sports.

I was wondering if any Wichita fans cheered when they heard the Creighton score? It might not have been announced, though, as the NCAA runs everything at the NIT. One more reason the NIT sucks in Omaha, no beer sales.

The score wasn't shown or announced at the WSU game.
