Penn State coach leaves....to go to Navy

This one has me a little confused. Seems strange to leave a Big 10 program that is coming off an NCAA appearance to go and coach at Navy.

Rumors were that Dechellis was probably going to be fired after this last season, until Penn St made a surprising run in the Big 10 tourney that got them into the NCAAs.

I've got to imagine that he'll be taking a pay cut.

Sounds like Penn St was going to be awful next year, and there is no way he would have been able to keep his job after the season. By doing this, he is able to land a job, and sign a multi-year contract.

Heard he is taking a 200K pay cut, but he obviously will have much more job stability than he had at Penn St.

The ONLY reason Penn State is in the Big 10 is because of their football program primarily and academics second. Big 10 football at the time Penn State was extended an invitation was solely Ohio State and Michigan. If there is one school the "Big Mouth Conference" needs, it is notre Dame. Problem is, Notre Dame doesn't need them.
Undoubtedly, Notre Dame has a nationwide following. Geographically, they are a better fit in the "Big Mouth Conference" than the Big East(Big Blow Hard Conference).
