You really went there? Really? We had a D-2 football program here, nobody went. When UNO moved to D-1 they eliminated it. One of the reasons was that moving to FCS wouldn't increase attendance enough to offset costs. The reason attendance wouldn't rise is because there are so many other entertainment options available. Omaha isn't a resort town, huge thriving metropolis or entertainment mecca, but there is enough critical mass to push FCS football so far down the entertainment spectrum that it wouldn't warrant a writeup in the local fishwrap.

I'm not knocking people that are FCS fans, if I lived in Cedar Falls, I'd probably go to all the games. I went to Sioux City Explorer and Musketeer games when I lived in that hellhole. But don't mistake my attendance there as a wild endorsement of the product. I went to the games because it was something to do. In Omaha, FCS football pretty much gets trumped by.............. everything else.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!

Whoa.....this may be a new record on this board. Did you just attempt to insult the Nebraska football program, a program that's sold out somewhere in the neighborhood of 350 consecutive home games, won multiple National Championships in the last 20 years (real National Championships by the way) while at the same time alluding to the uni panthers as a better product?

You are in SERIOUS need of a check up from the neck up.

You mad bro? :D

I was alluding to the fact that Nebraska has done jack-squat for product that they BELIEVE they have in Lincoln. As someone who used to support Iowa State before attending UNI I am very familiar with the over inflated ego that is Corn Husker athletics. Does it really surprise you that they sellout all the time? What else is there to do in non-Omaha-Nebraska on a weekend?? Heck, isn't Nebraska's stadium like the 3rd or 4th largest population in the state on gamedays? I certainly didn't enjoy my one and only visit to Lincoln despite all the hype my Husker friends gave me. Give me Ames, CF and Iowa City anyday.

And yes, I prefer the FCS to the FBS/BCS because a playoff is the only true way to determine a champion. This Bowl crap (ha! get it?) is a joke and incredibly counter-productive to what college athletics SHOULD be about (playing the game and supporting competition). However in no way was I directly saying that UNI football > Neb. football. I've heard rumors that Dannen is trying to get them on a future schedule so I'll guess we'll see.

UNI has never billed the suites as luxery suites as far as I know. They are university owned and leased out to corporations/parties/etc... as requested/paid for. They aren't great, but who gives a flying s***...outsite of sCUM fans apparently.

Would it be nice for UNI to need/have a 12-15K seat facility based on the design of most NBA arenas? Sure....but that isn't UNI.
