UNI making a run, but the hole was too deep. Another Mountain West team taking it to the Valley.

73-59 final. Had the lead cut to 13 with 6 minutes to go and had two straight chances to cut it further with one and ones and missed the front end both times. Too big of a hole to try and dig out of. Of the team's I've watched UNI play this year, UNLV was easily the best.

That was awful. We are not a very good team right now. I do give credit to UNLV. That was the best team I have seen us play and that does include Louisville. That freshman Bennett is unbelievable, and will be playing in the league probably even next year.

The team has no cohesion or confidence right now. Hopefully playing at home can cure that, but St. Mary's is not going to be any easier. We need to find confidence somewhere or it will be a really long year culminating in a sweet Thursday night appearance in STL.

We are simply not a good team right now. Very disappointing considering how little we lost from a good team last year.

UNI @ WSU is an early conference game.

WSU has 4 early-season starters beat up. Orukpe won't be 100%. Hall, Wessel, and Baker are out. 4 of the 8 "healthy" players either missed a bunch of practice due to injuries or are nursing injuries they can play through.

Somehow, UNI doesn't scare me - actually, UNI doesn't concern me. I'm confident the last 8 guys on WSU's bench can beat anything UNI has.

I am aware UNI fans probably do not share that opinion, and I certainly wouldn't expect them to share that opinion. I fully expect a bunch of pretty fair players for WSU who weren't expecting much PT are going to be pumped to be getting PT and won't want to let down their injured leaders.

The plus for UNI for this season is that UNI is likely to be able to keep Jacobsen for quite a while longer, and I think Jacobsen will get UNI back to the upper levels of the Valley again. Not this year. With what would be expected in the Valley and the RPI's in the Valley, UNI is likely to be top-150 - not top-100.

+1 on Bennett. How could he miss at 6-8, 240. Did you see the play where he gets the rebound, dribbles the length of the floor, goes around the UNI defenders and lays it in for two. Freshman? What would he be like as a college senior?

After seeing him play a few times I agree. He's going to be a really rich young man. I think he will be a lottery pick next summer.
