Another correction- Evansville did not "replace Tulsa".
Evansville joined the MVC in 1994, and Tulsa did not leave the MVC until after the 1995-96 season, two years later.

I suspect you are under 30. UE was explicitly taken to replace Tulsa, which had already announced its impending departure. They took the Aces asap.
