That's as relevent as 1964-1965. It's early still but my expectation is postseason play. I like coming under the radar this year. I keep voting MSU in our little fan poll. I don't want any type of bullseye. What was Drake picked in 2007-08? And look what happened.

You are crazy if you think last years results are as relevant as a season 50 years ago! Some of the same players are still on this team along with the same coaching staff.

Mvouika might be POY as a senior. He might be first team All-Valley this year. I'm happy for MSU, but my goodness. Let's see the kid play 1 second against a D-I player that was on a decent D-I team. I'm not saying MSU will be awful, but when you are basing his play on practice, hedge your bets a little.

MSU fans are pretty excited about this year. Maybe more than we should be but after our dumpster fire year last year can you blame us? And WSU fans were pretty excited about Early before he played a minute of D1 ball. Not sure if Mvouika will be as good as Cle was last year but I think he'll start and be a pretty good player this coming year.

Mvouika hasn't been as over-hyped as my comment might lead one to believe. MSU fans should be happy that he is there and might even pencil him in as a starter. Additionally, one could make a supposition that Lusk stole a gem. What I would not imply is that he was a "recruiting coup." He did not make a single NJCAA AA list. He was not ranked in the top 50 or 75 prospects of any recruiting service. There is no reason to hype him at all.

Cleanthony Early, OTOH, was a two time NJCAA POY (any division), most outstanding player at the JUCO skills camp, and #2 rated prospect. While we were AWFULLY excited that he was joining the Shockers, by September most fans were aware that he would not even be a starter for the team picked to finish 4th in the MVC.

A better comparison might be to Chadrack Lufile. Chadrack looked mighty impressive the moment he stepped on campus, but he was a bit of an under the radar guy.

I think a better barometer for Mvouika would be Gulley and Downing. They were Lusk first two juco signees, were not top 20 type jucos , but came in and immediately started and were double figure scorers. Lusk feels Mvouika is the most ready to contribute and well rounded of the jucos he's brought in. We'll see.

You might be right. I believe Guley and Downing came with more accolades...top 50 prospects, second team AA? Can't recall for sure. Perhaps Lufile would be an 8 and 4 guy at MSU?
