The history of Fr PG's is a Trail of Many Tears, unless your Fr PG is named Jake Odum. Here's hoping UE's Fr PG's are quick learners and are ready to handle the pace of D1 ball. The Valley needs UE to have a respectable season.
Unfortunately, UE is likely to struggle in OOC, and then play better in conference games as the Fr get more experience. That's going to make losses to UE in league play look worse than they will be, which may cause some of the upper-tier teams to end up in lesser post-season tournaments. That problem has repeatedly hurt the Valley.
It seems that in the '00 - '09 decade, the Valley always had a team or two that flat out cleaned up in OOC play. Then dropped off in league play, which bumped a lot of resumes in the Valley. In the '10 - current decade, the opposite is happening. There's always a team or two that has a bad record in OOC and then improves during Valley play. That hurts post-season resumes.
