No, its not inconceivable. Drake was a 5 seed just a few years ago, as was WSU, and SIU was a 4 seed a few years before that.

Easily, yes.

However, in order for the right to play Kansas at the South regional site (Memphis, probably), Wichita would have to go to a different regional site and win 2 games first. And with a 4 seed, it would be very likely Wichita would be forced to play in Spokane, with the real possibility of a 5 seed Gonzaga or Oregon playing in their backyard.
