Is the seat for Marty getting a little warm? If five years in the Valley he has never finished above .500 in conference, 16 games bellow .500 in conference play, and17 games below .500 overall.[/quote] Wow now 2 of you guys, If you look at the stats they were 10 -8 last year in conference.

UE couldn't hold on. It was no choke job. Foul trouble and missed FT's did them in.

So where do you think Xavier is going to finish in their conference? That was a hard game to watch because I wasn't impressed with either one.

Not holding on = choking.

If a certain team in the MVC played Xavier we would read how Xavier would finish in top 3 in the MVC. They say it about almost every team they play. But when another team from the MVC team plays someone outside the MVC, that team blows.

I have no idea where they will finish in the Big East. Middle of the pack.

Your supporting evidence?

Also, saying a team would finish in the top 3 in the MVC this year is like saying a team isn't as good as WSU or as bad as SIU. That leaves like 300 teams. So one can reasonable say "that team would finish Top 3 in the MVC" and then say "that team blows" about very many of the same teams.

You are correct. My fault. Wikipedia had them 9-9 last year

I'm not trying to bait you into an argument. Just wanting to know what the "feel" is around Marty Simmons job situation.

Cool no big deal, my feeling is this before this year the last 3 years in conference play they have a made a big improvement in margin of defeat with the number getting less every year, last year they were in every conference game except the loss at Creighton, If you look at this year after losing 3 seniors but some good sophs in Balentine, Mock and Wing mixed with 3 good freshman, I think they will have some growing pains, but by the end of this year and next year be a pretty solid team, if for some reason next year they start losing games they should win then I think his days would be numbered, just my thoughts.
