The CBS announcers last night couldn't stop talking about him. The great thing is he's not just a shooter. He handles the ball well and passes and sees the floor well too. And is tough as nails. A starting backcourt of Ruder and Marshall for the next few years is something to look forward to.

Also, I know Mvouika came in with a lot of Hype. Based on his build and statistics he is quite similar to Nick Wiggins. I don't know if they play the same, but Nick was all bench team last year and is bringing the game this year we all expected (minus the 3 pfg%).

Mvouika has shown some flashes but can and should play much better as the season goes on. At 6 6 he's a tough matchup for most teams at the 2 spot. His continued improvement will be a real key to how good we really are IMO.

Interesting and apt parallel your mentioning the comparison to Wiggins. I've always liked Wiggins game. I hear Marshall at times is down on his effort on the defensive end? We hear the same about Mvouika.

Wiggins had three issues that limited his minutes last year:

Effort, defensive positioning and loose handles. Those have all been resolved and the minutes have increased.

That's good for you guys. My impression is he's a check of a shooter.

He's a good shooter and a better athlete. Need him to be THE MAN off the bench if we are going to have post season success. Also need the bigs to hit a higher percentage of shots and grab some freaking rebounds!!

BTW, Derail Green is the only freshman at WSU on scholarship that is getting minutes. He will not win FOY.

Thanks for posting the update. I'm anxious to see Doyle play.

Interesting fact about Ruder is he leads us in min/game. As a freshman. I'm not sure I've ever seen a more consistent outside shooter than this kid. I know it's only been a half season so far and he may yet ( probably will) hit a slump. But he just exudes confidence. I expect every shot he takes to go in and find myself getting mad whenever he passes up an open look. LOL.

He's not yet the all around player Baker is. And he may never be because I don't think he's as good an athlete. But he's a better shooter IMO. And I think he has the ability to expand his game quite a bit over the next 4 years.

Haha Yes I saw Bird play. I probably went a little too far in my praise. As you can probably tell I really like this kid. He and M Marshall are the future of the Bears.
