Most of the fouls on Mvouika and Buss were the exact opposite of letting someone play. There were multiple instances of good clean defense (for both sides) where they blew the whistle just to make sure it was still there. And then there were other instances of guys getting hammered going for a rebound or making a drive and the officials simply stood there. It's one thing to be very loose or very strict in your enforcement of the rules, it's another thing entirely to be inconsistent. That crew was not consistent because they obviously weren't used to this type of game. You absolutely have to give players and coaches the ability to adjust to your style. That's near impossible if you keep changing your approach.
