I've got a hell of a lot more confidence for our tournament hopes based on Wessel hitting three of his last four 3-point shots after going 0/20.
We've had a strong team all year, but we've been in a position where foul trouble could really hurt us at points. Carter is stepping up huge lately and has become a much more physical player. Baker's becoming a really solid point guard to spell FVV, which will allow us to have the Armstead/FVV swap we had last year in the tournament. If Wessel and Wiggins are going to be able to give us decent points from the bench, we're a far better team. And Wessel's found the perfect time to finally recover his shot. With his defensive effort, I'll bet he jumps past Wiggins as the top 2/3 sub if he's no longer an offensive liability.
Things
seem to be clicking in all facets again just in time for the postseason. My only complaints throughout the year have been lack of physical/offensive post play and lack of scoring options off the bench, and both are looking a lot better now. We're finally getting to the point where I'm comfortable with nine players on this team being in the game. Same as last year come the postseason.
