If Hawkins goes then he can only play in games that occur on odd numbered calendar days, unless it is a Tuesday, and then it must be even numbered.

Whether Hawkins would have to sit out depends on his situation with IlSU. If he's on scholarship or has signed an LOI or other "agreement", then he would have to sit out.

As I understand it, Hawkins is paying his own way this year. If that's the case, it seems he would be able to transfer without sitting out a year.

Hawkins hasn't used any eligibility. If he had to sit out a year, he could have an appeal that his 5 years to complete 4 years of eligibility shouldn't have started at IlSU because he wasn't enrolled there to play basketball.

Hawkins could end up involved with college basketball in one way or another longer than Grant Gibbs did - and that takes some doing.
