Three MVC games this week and looking ahead

Postby Turner » January 4th, 2011, 2:01 pm

By Sunday each team will have played 5 conference games and almost 1/3 of the conference season will be complete. If the Jays can win tonight and get road wins at Evansville and SIU this weekend (a lot to ask I know) they could head into next week's game with WSU at 5-0. I haven't looked at all the schedules but wondered what you thought your team's record would be after Sunday.

I'll say 40% Jays are 5-0. 40% Jays are 4-1. 20% Jays have 2+ losses.

For UE, we are @UNI tonight, @MSU tonight and CU at home on Sunday.
I would guess most UE fans, being optimist, would have us at 2-3 and to me that would be good. I don't think many would have us at 3-2, which would be great. Then the realist would have us at 1-4.

If we are lucky, the redbirds will be 2-3 with their only wins on the road at this point against In. St. and SIU. Realistically, we might only beat 1 of those teams and be 1-4 and it really wouldn't surprise me to see us at 0-5 considering how our schedule was set up to start. I'm chalking us up for a home loss to UNI. They seem to find a way every time we have played them the last few years.

(Of course I always bet against my gut with ISU on our board for valley pick'em)

If you are planning on being at MSU tonight, I think you'll win. We are going to be very thin as most of our players will be in Omaha. :D

Bears have @CU tonight, v. UE on Friday, and @WSU on Sunday.

70% chance we are 3-2. 25% chance we are 4-1. 5% chance we are 5-0.

Shocks are home against Drake tonight, at Illinois State Friday and home to MSU on Sunday.

97% they'll be 2-3, 1% 3-2, 1% 4-1, and 1% 5-0. I had to round up the partials to 1 to make it work. They actually have a much smaller chance to have a winning record.

30% chance to win 1 or 2 of our road games? I'd say it's closer to 50%

I'd say 50% we are 3-2. 42% Chance we are 4-1. 8% we are 5-0

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Yes we won on the road at UNI. But to give us a 50% chance of winning at CU or WSU is a little much. We haven't won at CU in 6 years and WSU in 5 years. Both are tough places to play and are going to require perfect games to pull off. We are capable of getting at least 2 wins out of these 3

I give UE a 0% chance of being 5-0 after Sunday.

Other than that, I agree with 1982. About an 80% chance of being 1-4, 15% of being 2-3, and 5% of being 3-2.
