Northern Iowa has a lot of youth, but it is in the form of sophomores.

One Newcomer is Aarias Austin, 6-4 Juco G, 2nd team Juco All-American. Likely will simply fit into rotation of guards and not stand out statistically.

Two possible Freshman who could see action:

6-11 Justin Dahl, averaged 18.6 pts and 16.9 rebs as a HS senior. Biggest player at UNI since Eglseder, could fill a void in the middle if he doesn't redshirt. Word is likely redshirt to allow him to develop to college speed.

6-9 Luke McDonnell, most likely freshman to play. Staff would love to redshirt him to build strength but Jacobson was quoted as describing him as a cross between O'Rear and Tuttle. Seems like a lot to put on a kid as a freshman, but if true, could push for FOY honors.

I wouldn't be surprised to see McDonnell show some of his Tuttle/O'Rear skill set as a freshman, but I would be surprised if he performed statistically similar to Tuttle (10 and 6), even as a freshman.
