Kansas and K State to play games in Wichita next year

K State vs West Virginia

Both games at IBA. Sucks for WSU fans that neither have the stones to play against the Shox.

Rumor is that Gregg Marshall made reference to the "Chickenhawks" at some kind of pep rally after the NIT championship. If true, kudos to him for that.

Haha, I guess Kansas and K State want to play "neutral" court games to strengthen their SOS.

I think USC actually agreed to move their home game to Intrust so they could make some cash on the game.

He did, but it was in reference to a sign that a fan was holding. He was playing to the fans, as you would expect a coach to do at such an event.

I think it's weak, but I can't blame them. You get to play in Wichita and expand the fan base but not risk anything by doing so. How will the Wichita faithful show up to support the state BCS schools?

First off, yes, when I heard that Marshall made reference to the "chickenhawks" it made me bust up laughing, love it.

Secondly, as long as they are unwilling to play us then let them play at Intrust. Maybe it will keep us from having to play there. I dread the thought we would put UNLV, Utah St., or some other good non-conference team in Intrust. If you want to put a game in Intrust, how about Chicago St. or UMKC, someone we shouldn't need our Koch Arena advantage against.

The support for KU and KState will be very good. Contrary to what is shown on Shockernet, many WSU fans are fans of KU and KState. I am one, but in that order (WSU, KU, KState). There are a lot of KU and KState fans that live in and around Wichita, and neither school is that long of a drive away. They will bring many fans with them.

You will absolutely be taken to the woodshed should you keep this honesty up!

The fact of the matter is, most of us, whether we like to admit it or not, like more than one school. That said, it is still fun to call Evansville fans Hoosiers and to taunt Creighton fans as Huskers! Drake fans are funny, some like the Hawkeyes and some like the Clones. I used to travel to Wichita on business, and on several occasions called on WSU/KU fans, and more common (this was during the highpoint of Bill Snyder) WSU/ KSU fans. This may also be due to the fact that I was working with Ag clients.
