Collegeinsider.com MidMajor Fresh All-American Team

Well now that the POY thread is closed... Was curious how long that was going to take? But no seriously, just passing this along. Indiana State's very own, world beater himself (self proclaimed btw) Jake Odum was named to the collegeinsider.com Mid-Major All-American Team.

He was one of 21 players named to the team, but interestingly enough the only player from the MVC selected to this team. It's obvious that they pulled out McDermott (from being eligible to receive the mid-major honor) as he was named to the REAL All-American team http://www.collegeinsider.com/awards/20 ... Just figured I'd pass this a long... 2 pretty good players which ever side of the fence you sit on.

Ok as if I took the time to read every thread to see if anyone said anything? Wrong... Plus it's worthy of it's own thread not mixed in amongst the fray in some other thread. Thanks for point that out though, it's the first thing that I've been "beat" at in quite sometime! Once again mvcfans.com proves to be the most humbling experience for me. lol

I encourage it and as long as you stay on topic I bet you wont have to worry about them shutting it down. No but seriously, I just thought I'd let people know. I haven't checked but was a thread created about Doug getting Freshman All American team from that same website? If not then it's a travesty and I'd say he got slighted... Just to be consistent in my thought process ya kno? lol

It's funny how well received a post is when it doesn't even show bias. I actually made mention of both awards in the article and other than putting the word MidMajor in the title of the thread I didn't dictate which way discussion should go. Didn't even bother arguing that Odum should have made the Fresh All American team if McDermott did, I didn't even go that route and still no credit... lol Like I said nice to see them both get recognized, be backwards as they got it. Just kiddin.

McDermott made the freshman All-American team (with Harrison Barnes, etc.); Odum made the mid-major freshman All-American team.

Hoooray for the little mid-majors!!!

Who cares.....

McDermott was by far the better freshman and it is shown by REAL honors (and I despise Creighton, so it's hard for me to admitt that). This is about as impressive as the mid-major top 25....whoopie.

I have always wondered how these awards work. Why if Dough McDermott is good enough tbe on the Fresh AA team, isn't he also on the MM Fresh AA Team? He attends a MM for cripes sake! I really believe that he was passed over, not omitted because he was already on another honorarium.

That said, maybe being on the Fresh AA team disqualifies you from being considered MM Fresh AA. That is so wrong! I mean, I've always wondered why the Heavyweight Champion of the World doesn't also qualify to be the Intercontinental Champion. Does anyone really believe that Hulk Hogan wasn't better than Rowdy Roddy Piper? The Hulkster should have had both of the belts.

Is there a rule somewhere that all posts by InSU fans have to contain "lol" somewhere? I feel like I'm reading texts composed by my 10 year old daughter....
