MVC All Decade Team

I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere on the board, but I thought I might as well start some discussion on this board.
My First team is, Kyle Korver, Kent Williams, Darren Brooks, Nate Funk, Ben Jacobson.
2nd Team is, Jamal Tatum, Anthony Tolliver, Marcellus Sommerville, Osiris Eldridge, and Jamar Howard. I'm sure I made some mistakes. Let me know your thoughts !

Funk was never an MVC POY, so I couldn't put him on the first team list. Not sure if Williams was either. Korver and Brooks are probably 1-2, but there could be great debate after that.

Not sure how you'd put Summerville or Howard over Weems if last year is in your decade.. Miller of WSU also deserves a look.

Your right. Tatum won it that year. But I think Funk should have,

David Moss of the Sycamores would definitely receive consideration within the past decade.

I'd put Paul Miller from WSU in there for consideration.

I would say Ahearn gets a look for 2nd team. Weems is going to be interesting because two of his years fall in the last decade and two are going to fall in this decade...

Korver, Brooks, Miller, Funk,Tatum, Jacobson, Howard, Sommerville, Ahearn, ???

I'll admit, I am looking at stats and All-MVC teams that only go back to the 03-04 season and I can't remember a lick who played the first few years in the MVC this past decade...

Hard to weigh the last 3 years of the decade because before that, the entire team should be made up of Salukis.

I have to think Adam Koch would be on the list somewhere....at least right below the top 5 SIU players.

Thats a very, very tough question, and there is just no way to do it without leaving out some excellent players. And do you weigh the teams success more (ncaa tournament), or do you weigh the individual talent?

Here's what I came up with.

1-Darren Brooks SIU
2-Ben Jacobson UNI
3-Kyle Korver CU
4-Adam Koch UNI
5-Paul Miller WSU

I think that Brooks and Korver are the only guys on the list that you cannot argue against, as they are both locks. Yeah, it was homerific of me to put two UNI guys on there. Didn't initially plan to put Koch in there, but I couldn't find another 4-5 player that had his credentials. Really tough to leave out guys like Sommerville, Tatum, Funk, Falker, Eldrige, etc. But factoring in wins/postseason success, that is the list I came up with.

Now, if you wanted to make a team that is simply the 5 "best" players, you'd probably have a team of 5 guards. The talent at guard in the MVC by FAR outweighed the talent in the post in the last decade.
