ESPN will be at "Bluejay Madness" for CU's 1st practice

Very cool if true.

As a result of the buzz surrounding the team after the performances of Doug McDermott with the Team USA U-19 squad and Gregory Echenique’s quest with the Venezuela National Team this summer, Creighton will have the spotlight of national television coverage shown on the second-annual “Bluejay Madness.”

Based on a post on the Creighton Blue Crew Facebook Page and independent confirmation from other sources, White & Blue Review has learned that Creighton will be a part of ESPN coverage of madness events all over the country. Their whip-around coverage will include the festivities being held at Sokol Arena on October 14th–the first official night of practice for the 2011-12 season. Last season ESPN visited the likes of Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas State, Memphis and Gonzaga, so to be included this year is quite the honor. As part of their production, ESPN will have cameras at this year’s Bluejay Madness to use with their studio production of the night’s events.

Creighton is scheduled to be one of 11 institutions featured on ESPNU’s program, along with Connecticut, Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, Syracuse, Michigan State, Louisville, Kansas, Baylor and Texas A&M.

That will make it even sweeter when WSU kicks CU's butt 3 times this year.

Yeah, I know, I picked CU to win the Valley, but the season is getting close now, and I'm trying to get into good posting condition before the season starts. I'll try to stick with the Kumbaya spirit during the non-con, but then it's time to throw down.

Seriously, that's great for CU and great for the Valley. The Valley needs CU to be a strong team and get some national recognition year-in and year-out. CU has a "name brand" and the Valley benefits by CU being able to build that brand on the national level.

As long as we are being this irrationally optimistic, it possible that WSU could kick CU's butt 4 times if they meet in the NCAA tournament.

+1
Our last five are still collectively better than your starting lineup.

No.. no... we're not bitter anymore about Doug leaving UNI at the altar to go to Creighton. Why should we be?

That was pathetic, I am sure everyone here would love to have ESPN in their gym for midnight madness, but that was painful. It looked like a Creighton undergrad filmed it with an IPhone, just felt like ESPN really dropped the ball. Side note why was midnight madness at a highschool gym?

Nobody is going to rent out the quest center for a midnight madness. Side note to you, do you think that gym has locker rooms in the same building? I bet it does
