Will the MVC have the same ten teams in 5 years? 10 years?

The more things are changing around us the less likely I think our conference will remain intact for long.

Everybody PANIC!

Actually, CU and WSU could become targets for some of the Oly sports conferences that are developing. While most Valley members (and fans) think baseball doesn't matter, at WSU baseball matters. If WSU had a chance to join a conference with better baseball competition - and preferably some warmer climate schools - and the basketball staff was not opposed, WSU would be gone in a flash.

The CUSA-MWC football-only merger could open some interesting doors for WSU's participation in Oly sports. Going south to play baseball in March is so much better than going north. Especially if the destinations are Tulsa, Houston, etc.

I have to say I fear the changes won't be for the better for any of us. At least not in the basketball realm. I really hope the Valley can weather this mostly intact.

No way. Very good chance this league is different by 2012-2013. If not then 2013-2014.

In reality, MVC teams are not on the radar for anyone right now. I think we'll all be and with maybe an addition or two.
