He's not ineligible. He missed class, was told not to do it again, and did it again.
He chose poorly.
I heard he was sent to study hall the night of the open scrimmage, and he didn't get his NIT ring nor was his name even announced (all other current and former players, coaches, managers and the school President and his wife were announced and got rings, whether they were in attendance or not).
It's been rumored he didn't play in the closed scrimmage and that he may sit the exhibition and first game, but none of that has any truth other than rumor....maybe he'll play and maybe he won't, I have no idea.
But he is not ineligible. Gregg has graduated every Senior in his stint at WSU, and that isn't likely to change now.
