WSU vs. Charleston Southern

CSU is coming off a 5-point loss to Kansas State. CSU led by 12 at the half, extended the led to 15 on 3 FT's, but didn't hit a field goal until there were about 5 minutes left in the game.

CSU doesn't have a starter taller than 6'5". WSU is going small . Starters are
Ragland
Kyles
Williams
Smith
Stutz

CSU is coached by a former assistant to Marshall at Winthrop. They play the same style game and they know what WSU will be running.

Murry practiced 2 days this week and is expected to play, but will have limited minutes.

WSU off to a 14-2 start.

Stutz already has 2 fouls and Orukpe is in. Murry getting some minutes, but Marshall said in the pre-game that he's far from 100%.

WSU up 45-17 at the half.

Everybody but Anacreon and a walk on has played. 3 Fr that were possible RS candidates have all been in the game. The reserves seem to be getting as many minutes as the starters.

Can we put to rest all this year of the stutz business? If he can't stay out of foul trouble against someone 4" shorter he never will.

On another note, Carl Hall is a beast. Orupke is filling in adequately for Stutz and we held CS to only 5 field goals in the first half.

No, we can't. Stutz getting in foul trouble was part of the game plan to get Orukpe some minutes.

57 - 22 with 16 minutes remaining.

85-57 final.

Marshall put the slowest 5 guys he had on the court and left them there for quite a while. That allowed CSU to get some baskets, some confidence, and cut into the lead. Well, that and giving the Fr and walkon a lot of minutes.

Tekele Cotton is a VERY good freshman PG. Nice suprise for us Shocker fans as he was the least heralded of this years recruiting class. He debuts with 10 points.
