Illinois St. Schedule/Rumors

It's been an interesting few weeks for the Redbirds. First we sign up Dan Muller to coach, then Nic Moore asks for and gets his release. Redbirds still have one more spot to fill on the staff, but Muller brought home Dana Ford from WSU's staff and retained Rob Judson. We then bring in 3 star Canadian PG Kaza Keane into the mix with an LOI after his visit yesterday who is supposedly a huge steal for us and a much needed one to fill the void that Moore is leaving behind.

As for the schedule...

South Padre Island (2 of 4 at home: Farleigh Dickinson, Navy, Delaware St. and Prairie View A&M)
South Padre Island (2 of 3 on neutral: TCU, UAB and Northwestern)
Western Michigan (bracketbuster return)
Wyoming (MVC/MWC challenge)
@ Bracketbuster
@ Louisville (rumored...no word on details of any return or 2-1)
@Murray St. (rumored...working on home/home to fill out last game on their schedule)
@Northern Illinois (rumored...tweet from Jordan Threloff talking about returning home to play ball)

So far, so good. We bring in staff who has already landed and impact recruit and will have an improved schedule. Redbird Nation should be pretty happy about this after everything that had gone down with Jank and Moore.

Update: Torrey Ward was named our last assistant. He was a former assistant at Ole Miss and Jacksonville St. Coached in China last year. Supposedly another really good recruiter.

Louisville and Murray State are definitely improvements from the Podunk schools Jank would have gotten...

Speaking of schedules, Indie State at UCLA to open the season just announced. Didn't see anything on the Site so I'm throwing it out here.

Definitely an improvement. If we can perform to the level of our expectations we might have a legit at large chance in March.

Hopefully the Valley has a couple teams that are able to do the same and have their names called in March.
[Insert snappy comeback]

Seriously? Considering that Louisville and MSU are TBD (I'll be shocked if it happens), I don't see one OOC game I'm interested in, or that will improve our RPI. Sad days again when you have to hang your hat on Northwestern as your best/toughest OOC opponent.

Weak.

But still an improvement over last year's schedule isn't it?
