Rebound and Shot or Neither?

Was watching Doug McDermott play the other night. At times he won't be able to grab the rebound so he tries to tip it in the basket. As far as stats go, does this count as a rebound and a shot or neither unless it goes in?

Seems like it should count as both a missed shot and a rebound.
