Nice story coming out of Omaha on WSU season.

Gregg Marshall has been caught off guard by Wichita State's near-perfect start to this season.

Marshall liked the players he brought in to replace five key contributors from last season's Missouri Valley regular-season championship squad. He knew he had a solid core of returning players led by forward Carl Hall and guard Demetric Williams.

I love this quote from the article by Marshall.

“We don't recruit backups here,” he said. “One of my mentors told me that if you recruit backups, that's what you'll end up having. We try to recruit guys that we think can start here, guys that can help you win.”

There are probably some other elite programs that have, so lets just put the number at 300.

I can't believe that the Omaha Herald would see fit to post that drivel about WSU in their paper. They should know that a story like that is much more fit for the Wichita Eagle. They should expect a backlash after that trolling effort!

During the conference season, the OWH writes about all of the teams in the conference once a week. They call it the Valley report. You can quit patting yourselves on the back; they'll probably cover Indiana St next week.
