Welcome Loyola

Welcome to the conference Loyola.

Don't pay attention to some of the negativity on this board. Some think JC himself was going to start a school in the midwest and place it in the Valley.

Again welcome and congrats.

Welcome to the Valley Family Loyola!

Schedule up in the non-con and win some of them.

But, if you can't get JC to build it, the Jesuits are about as close as you're going to get. Definitely closer than Oral Roberts :D

David Woods (Indy Star reporter) says on twitter that both UIC and Loyola will be joining the MVC. I have not seen this news ANYWHERE.

David Woods ‏@DavidWoods007 2h
Horizon losing both Chicago schools. MT @Pg_Benson Evansville Courier-Press reporting Loyola invited to join MVC and accepted.

regardless, welcome Loyola anyway

If Loyola fans really do exist on the Internet, in this world, whatever then welcome. I don't want to be a bad host. But I really think this stinks.

They don't have baseball, have a small basketball arena, and offer what exactly? All that I can tell is that they are in Chicago and have a big endowment. Cool. But this is about sports. I'll look into them more now but I am very underwhelmed. If ORU doesn't get in and Loyola in fact does then I just don't get it. That's like passing on Jamaal Charles in your fantasy football draft to pick up Toby Gerhart. I don't get the rationale and I probably never will. Bad day for the Valley in my humble opinion. History will tell us whether it was just an eh day or if it was a monumentally bad day.

I really don't see Wichita State staying in this conference beyond this next season.

I know you all are riding high after the Final Four and whatnot...but do you think that you have other options really? You are too far West for the A10. The Mountain West is not going to invite a non-football school. Would you prefer the Sun Belt or Southland or something? I think those places would take you but they aren't better from a basketball perspective.

This has been discussed enough in other threads. No reason to continue it here. Bump one of those threads ;)

Looks like they have the resources to upgrade some things...sometimes you have to go with potential

Creighton had a $375 million endowment, more than twice as much as the average of the other nine MVC schools. Loyola's endowment is now $389 million. Loyola has assets of $1.2 Billion and they average $159 Million in donations per year. They also average $10 Million per year on investments in dividends and interest. By comparison, Creighton had $853 million in assets, $64 million in donations.
