Been news for awhile but now finally have a rendering of it. Also (18) 2'x8' video boards above all the exit/entrance tunnels which before had static advertisements.

I love the way it looks, but ... will there be a scoreboard? I assume it will be displayed at all times hopefully.

Illinois State uses a stat overlay on the video-board at Redbird Arena, and it's terribly executed.
Too small to read and never visible during timeouts; grinds my gears...
Hope Koch's is better for your sake!

The video screens are 12'x15' - that's almost 2-1/2 times the area of the current video boards. They're going to have to use part of the video area for scores, stats, and other game info. I'm afraid game info will be competing with sponsorship info for space on the screens.

We're losing the part (currently under the video screens) that showed the score, the players on the court, the stats for those players, the timeout situation, the clock - basically all the game info. that's going to have to on the video screen. The new scoreboard is said to be "like the one at the downtown arena". I hate that board. I'm fond of being able to check a player's points and foul situation on my schedule, instead of only when that info is fed to me in between some sponsor messages, but money is the wind that sails the ship.

I think this scoreboard is designed more to sell advertising than to provide game info. It's pretty, it's modern, it's going to look great - unless you are looking to the scoreboard for info about the game.

I am not sure that the IBA's scoreboard is HD. Is it? If this is truly HD it should be nice. I wonder how much video screen will be left to watch replays compared to what the old board provided.

This is a very unfortunate trend across the sporting world. Fans deserve instant access to game info.

IBA's scoreboard is widescreen, but not HD. The new Koch scoreboard will be HD, and WSU is working to get HD cameras.

Unfortunately, the MVC is at a significant disadvantage in terms of competing on a national level fiscally. MVC teams as a whole are going to have to make money however they can to make up for the lack of TV revenue in order to attract good coaches and keep them.
