WSU vs. WKU at midnight (CDT)

I would have thought there'd be an ample supply of give-away tickets from people who can't or don't want to see basketball at midnight, but that doesn't appear to be happening. The cheapest seats found on the Net were 2 together in row 27 for $70. Other than those two, singles that high or higher were in the $50 range.

Everybody gets a free energy drink when they arrive. Marshall dipped into his own pocket to provide $5 concession stand vouchers for the first 500 students in the doors. The doors open up at 9 PM. Students are already lining up.

Just guessing here, but students seem to historically get about 500 - 700 of the 1,000 student tickets. The rest go on sale to the general public, and 300 - 500 of those are sold, depending on the opponent. Student tickets for this game sold out the day they became available.

In the exhibition game and the first regular season game, it was clear that ticket takers were requiring a student ID to use a student ticket, so the students know they can't claim and then scalp the tickets. I believe a student can have a non-student guest.

The atmosphere around this game is nuts. It's about the same as would have been expected for a game against Creighton with a Valley championship on the line. Maybe a bit crazier than that with all the student involvement.

A little about the game. WKU's PG sprained his foot. It appears they will be starting a Fr walkon at PG. That's not likely to work out well for them.

I doubt many non-WSU fans will stay up until 2 in the morning to watch this game, but I'd recommend recording it. Unless something unusual happens it will be worth your 2 hours watching the game to see the VanVleet/Baker backcourt show with accompaniment by Early up front. I suspect WSU will have a less-balanced scoring attack this year.

In addition, we can see what the new camera angle looks like being broadcast on the mothership.

Wish I was going, but I look forward to watching it.

Is there a 10pm game tonight or will we be able to see the first half? Just kidding, only slightly though as any 10pm game in the past usually bleeds over a little into the next game, but with the new rule enforcement, that could go a lot further. Maybe this event will be enough impetus for ESPN to scream about the length of games, we'll see.

Should be a good showcase for the Shocks and Koch either way. Light 'em up.

Still wish we would have found a way to get the Hilltoppers into the Valley a few years ago....

I'm predicting 25 WKU TOs and 50-60 combined fouls. And of course a WSU win. Should be a statement game, but these types of games can produce wonky results.

Don't let WKU take any last second....long range 3 point shots.

Is it on espn? I'd like to record it. I'm anxious to see the Shox 2 new post players.
