Today's Games

Postby Wufan » November 16th, 2013, 7:25 am

All times Central Standard Time

1200, Tenn St @ WSU (-23.5)
200, Loyola @ Tulane (-3)
300, UNI @ George Mason (-4.5)
705, St Louis (-13) @ SIU
705, Tulsa @ MSU (-4.5) on ESPN3
900, Drake @ St. Mary's (-15)

Three road games, three home games. MSU favored by 4.5 and WSU favored by 23.5. Everyone else is a dog…especially the ugly dogs (-13) and the Bulldogs (-15). 3-3 would be a nice showing today.

Loyola, and UNI, would appear to have the best chance to add a couple more victories to that total. Good luck to all the teams.

I think we have a decent shot at taking Tulsa at home.

I think he was already counting MSU in the W column since he noted that you were favored and at home. UNI should have a shot with 3 GMU starters out by injury or suspension, but we are young and it is on the road and took us overtime to beat them last year.

I agree that a 3-3 day would be solid, however Wichita is already down at half to an 0-3 Tennessee State team that I am sure would finish top 3 in the Valley.

I'm hoping for 4-2.

I'm writing off SIU against a quality opponent, and Drake (St Mary's has already beaten North Dakota St, La Tech, and Akron this season. Quickly building a good resume).

If we split the 2 other road games and win the rest, we'll be fine as a conference. However, I'm greedy and would like to sweep those.

After trailing 29-28 at the break, Shox now up 11 with 10 to go.

That's all three games this week where they have allowed lesser teams to hang around in the first half and actually trailed in 2 of the games at half, before pulling away in the 2nd. Is Marshall just trying different things in the first? Are the players not quite into gear yet? Foul troubles keeping rotations off balance? Just a curious trend this week.

The trend is concerning. Foul trouble is not the concern. It's possible that Marshall is trying new things or that the players aren't in gear. We have not been rebounding well against smaller, less athletic teams. Effort could be a problem. Hopefully we get this fixed soon.

Wsu tried to play the first half with a vanilla effort. It might had worked except wsu had about three shots that were in and out and shot miserable from the ft line while Tennessee St pulled some shots out of their butt with the shot clock winding down. 2nd half was pretty impressive effort by the shocks.
